Wardrobe works
I attempt a zero harm wardrobe. I sew and knit my clothes, often from recycled fabrics or yarns from local farms. I thrift my clothes. I mend the clothes I already have. I overdye or alter clothing items that fall out of use so that they become part of my wardrobe again. I choose all natural materials so that they can be composted at the end of their lifecycle. These small acts infuse my clothing with meaning and make every item of clothing last for years. In this way I minimize my participation in the ecological and cultural damage of fast fashion and excessive clothing waste.
