Contemporary Art Museum
The Contemporary Art Museum of Calgary was a fictional/functional museum that existed in a rented home in 2010. Featuring a Permanent Collection and hosting temporary exhibitions, the CAM had no budget but thrived on pure optimism and DIY spirit. WE DO WHAT WE CAM for Contemporary Art! A collaborative project between four roommates: Heather Kai Smith (Director of Acquisitions), Justin Brown (Director of Finance and Bylaw Services), Jordan Brown (Minister of Agriculture), yours truly (Director and CEO), and our canine representative Otis Puck (Director of Public Relations).
CAM paraphernalia was later featured in a group show at the Alberta College of Art + Design's Illingworth Kerr Gallery, entitled "With Nothing You Starve, With a Little You Survive".
